“All human beings, whatever their cultural or historic background, suffer when they are intimidated, imprisoned or tortured…We must, therefore, insist on a global consensus, not only on the need to respect human rights worldwide, but also on the definition of these rights…for it is the inherent nature of all human beings to yearn for freedom, equality and dignity, and they have an equal right to achieve that”.
–14th Dalai Lama

On Saturday, December 10th, Americans and #OccupyCleveland will rise up and stand together to demand that Congress fix our national debt in ways that DO NOT cut vital Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs. Come celebrate International Human Rights Day and defend the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which declares “social security” and “security in the event of sickness” as basic human rights!

The “Super Committee” is expected to have their cuts proposal by November 23 and is anticipating to push the proposal through Congress by December 23. We MUST come together and put pressure on our elected officials to ensure that these devastating cuts are not passed. #OccupyCleveland and local groups will join together in rally and march to show our solidarity with other groups grievances.

Celebrate and Protect Human Rights: Labor’s Rights, Students’ Rights, Civil Rights, Women’s Rights, and the rights of all oppressed and victimized groups in our society! #OccupyCleveland and other groups will assemble at Public Square at 11:30am (Downtown Cleveland), Rally and March to Federal Building at 12:30pm.
